2022 in Review - Mods, Stats, and Hats

  • Comment
It's mid February and I know what you're thinking: "this would be the perfect time for a year in review post for 2022". Well, say no more!

2022 was a huge year for our community and site. Not only did we see tremendous growth regarding new modders joining our community, mod uploads, and overall downloads, but the Nexus Mods Team itself has grown significantly as well.

On the backend, we've completed several important operations, most notably migrating a lot of our services to a new infrastructure.

Our collections feature has come a long way and we're very happy to say that many curators have created awesome collections which have contributed to an increase in mod downloads across the site.

There's a lot more, but a picture says a thousand words, so without further ado, here's a stylish graphic with the most important growth stats for 2022.

For accessibility (if you're using a screen reader) here's a PDF version of the graphic.

I'm new to using mods, but have caught on quickly.  My background in electronics, nanotech, etc and machines controlled by PCs after I served in the military for a decade. (I'm retired.  Yay!)  Great job on the site.  I can't speak for anyone else so I don't know how things are split up, job wise or monetarily, but that's your problem, so to speak (lol).  Anyway, I've gone through nearly every page of all time most popular mods for Fallout 4 (really).  Most I find not interesting, some are strange and then some are ludicrous and/or childish, but I've found many tucked away in the less popular mods that are great for me.  Just want to point out, too, that I've run across duplicates on different pages (same date, likes, and downloads) enough to populate a couple hundred pages.  Do you think a cleanup would be in order?  Going through 2400 pages takes time, which I have, but going through 2200 or less would be easier.  A new category of searching would be to search by popularity AND by the type of mod (Blueprints, character, patches, interface, etc.) THIS I would like to see.  I'll be playing Fallout 4 for a while although I downloaded it several years ago, but I'll also be playing some of the other games with mods listed here on your site.  It would be advantageous to have a search parameter like this when I scour the site for new mods for new (to me) games.

    First of all congratulations.

As a modder myself, I prefer to upload my work here rather than anywhere else, since community here is great, staff is more than helpful and really nice and pleasant, the site on its own is really easy to work with and its straight-forward (I really like the design), and not going to lie, for someone who has a lot of health issues, few dollars here and there from site`s donation pool, really comes in helpful, it sometimes help me get a better medication and care.

Cheers to everyone involved, from regular users, all the way up to the modders, staff, donators, in making this place really great.
Hopefully it grows even larger this year.

    Cheers!

    Keep up the awesome work!
You are allowing independent creators to make all these mediocre AAA games actually worthwhile with mods!
