About this mod
A reworked version of the Gladiator for modders to make him function properly in most arenas outside of Sentinel Prime
- Permissions and credits
Here's all the differences with the regular Gladiator:
Stage 1:
-Still can't walk normally;
-His short-winded flail attack, if not countered, now follows up into his Ethereal Shield attack, into his jump attack;
-His long-winded flail attack, if not countered, now follows up into itself, into his jump attack;
-His shield bash attack now follows up into his Ethereal Shield attack, into his jump attack;
-When he spawns demons, after a short while, he launches his Ethereal Shield attack, into his jump attack;
-His Ethereal Shield attack has the properties of the Gold Gladiator, and buffs demons when hitting them;
-When the Shield is destroyed, the Slayer breaks out of the animation quicker (will be available later in the Ultimate Custom AI Collection);
-If he's placed in an area where he can walk, he will only do the Ethereal Shield attack when he's done walking, following up into his short-winded flail attack (unintentional);
-Doesn't drop HP on Glory Hit (unintentional)
Stage 2:
-Can walk towards the player, but only if the player isn't in an unreachable position (still working on this);
-His flail shield attack has the properties of the Gold Gladiator;
-When up-close, instead of an instant attack, you now have time to counter him. If not countered, will follow up into his jump attack;
-When he spawns demons, after a short while, starts his Jacob's ladder attack (very buggy)
The Gold version is mostly identical, with three main differences:
-Every attack leaves behind a trail of fire;
-Any time an Ethereal Shield attack is started, he will follow it up into itself rather than the jump;
-His Ethereal Shield attack gives demons an Eternal Buff when hitting them, rendering them immortal for 10 seconds (will be available later in the Ultimate Custom AI Collection)
The zip contains an example encounter, to access it start from a new save file in the main campaign, you will be fully loaded, then play Hell on Earth until the gate before the Heavy Cannon opens, then reload checkpoint and the encounter will start. Just play it on ITYTD, it's not balanced at all and is more of a stress test than anything since that's probably the worst type of arena you can put the Gladiator in, but if I can somehow make him work perfectly there, he'll work perfectly anywhere in the game.
There's currently no explanations for how the Gladiator needs to be written in encounters since it has to be very specific, you can't just spawnSingleAI him and that's it, explanations will be available in the future
